Last week of vacation

I hope all of my students are having a great last week of vacation.  I'm busy getting our room ready.  I am looking forward to meeting my students on Orientation Day.  Remember that Orientation Day is from 1-3 and 4:30-6:30, on Thursday, August 28th.
Best wishes for a fabulous week.

Summer School for the teacher.

This summer I had the opportunity to take an iPad class.  What a humbling feeling to place myself back into a desk and let someone else guide me in the learning process.  This experience has given me a chance to have the same feels you do as you learn a new topic.
I'm exited about sharing some of the new skills I've learned with my students this fall.  We will be moving away from only being on the iPads to play skill developing games.  I see you, my future students spending time in the apps Fotobabble and Creative Book Builder.
I'm looking forward to the next couple of weeks in July were I'll also be creating a books for second grade Social Studies, Religion and Writer's Workshop.
Look for your teacher to create books about our local community, past communities, Laura Ingalls
Wilder, and many other topics.
